A new journey begins! by Tina Marie

Updated: Sep 17

This Tuesday marks the beginning of a brand-new chapter in my life—one that I’ve been dreaming about for a long time. I’m officially starting my training in permanent cosmetics, and I couldn’t be more excited (and yes, a little nervous too)!

For those who may not be familiar, permanent cosmetics—also known as micropigmentation—includes services like eyebrow microblading, lip blushing, eyeliner tattooing, and more. But for me, this journey is about something even deeper.

More Than Beauty

While I love the artistry and confidence that permanent makeup can bring, my ultimate goal is to become certified in scar and areola repigmentation—a specialized field within paramedical tattooing. These services are designed to help individuals heal after surgeries or traumatic experiences like mastectomies, gender confirmation surgery, or injury-related scarring.

I want to be part of that healing process—to help people feel whole again, to give them a sense of ownership over their bodies after incredibly hard journeys. I truly believe this work has the power to restore not just physical appearance, but confidence, dignity, and identity.

The Road Ahead

Starting Tuesday, I’ll be learning the fundamentals—brow mapping, pigment theory, skin anatomy, needle techniques, safety, sanitation, and so much more. It’s the first step in what I know will be a challenging but rewarding journey.

It will take time and practice to become certified in medical micropigmentation, but that’s the long-term vision. I’m hoping to begin offering scar and areola repigmentation services after the New Year—once I’ve gained the knowledge, skills, and certifications to do it with the care and precision it deserves.

Sharing My Journey

I’ll be using this space to share updates, behind-the-scenes moments, and everything I’m learning along the way. Whether it’s my first practice strokes, my first model, or the inevitable challenges—I want to bring you with me through it all.

If you’re someone who’s curious about permanent cosmetics, interested in paramedical tattooing, or just here to support me—thank you. Your encouragement means everything.

Here’s to new beginnings, big dreams, and helping people feel beautiful—inside and out.

Many of you know I already work with traditional tattoos—including tattooing over scars—and it’s been incredibly meaningful to help people reclaim their bodies through art.
