# Day 3 of Permanent Cosmetic Training: Building the Foundation
As many of you know, my ultimate goal is to specialize in paramedical tattooing, including scar camouflage and areola repigmentation. These services can be life-changing, helping clients restore confidence and feel whole again. Permanent cosmetics is the foundation that will allow me to pursue this work, and I want to share my training journey along the way.
The Journey Begins
The first two days of training were virtual, focused on theory and technical knowledge. Today marked a big milestone—the transition into hands-on practice. This shift is exciting and a bit nerve-wracking. I am eager to apply what I’ve learned and see how it translates into real-world skills.
Key Areas of Focus
Some of the key areas we worked on included:
Skin Stretching: Proper skin tension is essential for precise, even pigment implantation. It helps ensure consistent results and client comfort. I learned that mastering this technique can significantly impact the final outcome.
Color Theory & Pigment Mixing: We explored how pigments interact with different undertones. Practicing mixing directly on the skin allowed us to predict healed results more accurately. This part of the training was particularly fascinating, as it highlighted the artistry involved in permanent cosmetics.
The Fitzpatrick Scale: Understanding how different skin types respond to pigment is critical for both safety and long-term results. This scale helps guide color choices and technique adjustments. I found it enlightening to see how this knowledge can enhance the client experience.
Tattoo Machine Familiarization: Getting comfortable with a new, slimmer machine is about more than just holding it. It’s learning how different speeds, depths, and needles perform on facial skin—something I haven't tattooed before. This hands-on experience is invaluable.
These skills may seem basic, but they are the building blocks of safe, effective, and natural-looking permanent cosmetics. By mastering these fundamentals now, I’m preparing for the advanced techniques needed to help future clients through paramedical tattooing.
Looking Ahead
Next week, training moves into working with real clients—where theory and practice come together. I can’t wait to share that next step with you! The opportunity to apply what I’ve learned in a real-world setting is both thrilling and a bit daunting. I know that each client will teach me something new.
The Importance of Community
I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for the support I’ve received. Sharing this journey with you means a lot to me. Your encouragement fuels my passion and commitment to this craft. If you have any questions or thoughts, please feel free to reach out. I’m here to connect and share.
Thank you for letting me share my journey with you all, and follow along for more!
